A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. We do not keep or log those search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or other direct message long enough to respond and manage the communication. It stays within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical data when a page loads:

No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site describes where Ingham County records are kept, including the courts, the Sheriff, Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center, and the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal-history files, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search widgets. A query submitted through one is governed by that provider's privacy policy, retention terms, and sharing practices. Review those terms before sending a search because we do not control them.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Ingham County offices, Michigan agencies, court portals, legal services, or outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy controls. Read it before disclosing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
